The month of June is an exciting time for those following international politics, as well as international sports. In Spain, King Juan Carlos I announced his abdication of the throne in favor of his son, Prince Felipe de Borbón, whom is due to become King soon. In Brazil, the international 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament is set to begin on Thursday, June 12th, 2014. This is not the first time that Prince Felipe de Borbón of Spain, the World Cup, and House of Kahn have crossed paths before. The House of Kahn is deeply involved in the history of the World Cup and Spain’s Future King:

In 1994 (20 years ago this month), House of Kahn Estate Jewelers leased their building at 60 East Walton Street in Chicago, Illinois to the Spaniard World Cup Team. The 1994 FIFA World Cup was held in the United States and the Spaniard team hand-picked the Kahn’s building as their headquarters during the duration of their stay for the tournament. They transformed The House of Kahn into La Casa de España (translated: The House of Spain). Tobina Kahn, Vice President of House of Kahn Estate Jewelers, was at the inaugural opening event, on-hand to present Prince Felipe de Borbón of Spain with the Golden Keys to the Kahn’s building:
